TalkTalk Announces Home Mover Service
Moving home comes with its share of troubles and hassles. A major cause of concern is the setting up of new broadband and telephone lines. Currently, when someone moves into a non-cable neighbourhood, they have to sign up for BT before they can switch providers.
This is not only a taxing process but also an expensive one. According to TalkTalk estimates, customers end up paying no less than £120 by the time they have a TalkTalk connection up and running in their new home. Signing up with BT for at least a year long contract and then switching to TalkTalk before the contract expires takes up unnecessary expense.
This whole process, and the waste of money, may no longer be necessary as TalkTalk has come up with a service named ‘Home Mover’, which is available to both existing customers and new ones. Existing customers are charged £29.99 for the service, while new subscribers will have to pay £59.99.
Wendy Becker, who is the MD of TalkTalk, said that they were looking to ease the hassles associated with moving home by taking care of their customers’ home broadband and phone connection and getting them up and running. One needs to inform the costumer support at TalkTalk about the plan to shift houses at least fourteen days in advance. Thereafter TalkTalk takes full responsibility of providing broadband and phone service in the new location. The number to call for existing customers is 0870 444 1820, while new subscribers can avail the service at 0800 049 1424.
